On Radar

So today my lovely friend Shelby informed me that one of my pieces was on "Radar" on Tumblr. So far it has almost 4000 reblogs/likes! You've all seen the piece already, it is one of the three from my Bump in the Night series. Here's a screenshot of the radar on my tumblr homepage.

Old Uncle Grampy

This is my grandfather. It's based on a photo taken when I visited my grandparents in England in 2006. I know straight realistic portraiture isn't usually my thing, but I thought it would be nice to work that way for this piece. This painting is currently part of a portrait challenge at Sleeping Giant Gallery. A number of different artists painted/photographed their grandfathers or uncles, and everyone who comes to the exhibit tonight gets to vote for the best piece. The winner gets a free 1 week solo exhibit.
