By the Pound

By the Pound!

I'll be one of the 100 artists participating in this exhibit at Sleeping Giant Gallery. The opening reception is on November 26th, at 8pm, so come out if you're in Toronto!

It's going to be a super rad exhbit. There are 100 artists involved and all of the art is going to be sold quite literally 'by the pound' (specifically at $250 per pound). It should be a pretty exciting exhibit, there are lots of great artists involved!

It's Meant to Bee

Tomorrow night (June 8th) is the opening of a pretty rad show I am a part of called "It's Meant to Bee." It's happening at Dat Salon, and will be up for a month (but you should all come out for the opening, cheap drinks and good company!) The show features 13 artists, and each of us had to create a piece using only black and yellow. It was a challenge but it was a lot of fun, I can't wait to see what all the other artists did!

Here is the flyer for the show (designed by yours truly)

Check out this album art I did for my friends' band inLimbo! They make music and it is pretty rad. Their CD release is on June 17th at Mansion House in St Catharines, so perhaps if you find yourself in the Niagara Region you should check em out.

You can also check out their music here: http://iaminlimbo.com

have a heart

Have a heART is an upcoming art show in support of SickKids Foundation. There are 13 artists involved and we're all donating a piece, with all proceeds going to SickKids. I'm also planning on doing a wall piece at the show so you should all come out and see it! It's at Dat Salon at 442-E Dufferin St (just north of Queen) on June 5th. It'll be a good party, for a good cause!

I also designed the above flyer for the show. You can check out the event on facebook here.

Summer Chills

This is an illustration for the magazine Hot Mess. The theme was Summer Chills. FUN!

Click on the image to see it big and pretty.

Spot Illustrations

These three spot illustrations were made for a travel magazine.

This spot was made to accompany an article about a town in Japan that has such an efficient recycling program (34 categories!) that they have zero waste.

This one is for an article about how the Swedish town which is home to the famous Ice Hotel is sinking, and has to be moved a few kilometers away.

This illustration is for an article on the Museum of Broken Relationships.

Solve Everything!

Hey dudes and ladies!

I realize I haven't updated in quite some time, but I assure you I have been making art! I have some pieces in the works for upcoming shows, not to mention being back at school getting me back into gear.

Here is my first assignment of the year, an ad for the mystical magical wonder pill, Solvestra!

Solvestra™, is (as its slogan suggests) a pill that will temporarily solve almost any problem you might have in your personal life.
Are your dog, wallet or keys missing? Perhaps all three? Take a Solvestra™ and instantly know where your missing junk is!
On a plane and the pilot is having a heart attack? Take a Solvestra™ and instantly know how to expertly fly an Airbus A380 for the next couple of hours!
Want to make awesome pancakes? Find a simple, delicious recipe online, make the pancakes and then go out somewhere for the rest of the day, take a Solvestra™, and do something awesome that you couldn’t do without Solvestra™!

Painting Turned Photo!

Hey my lovelies! Remember this piece I did a while back, for the Square Foot Show?

WELL, my wonderful amazingly talented photographer friend Zachary Koski did a photoshoot inspired by it! I'm planning on painting a couple of his photos, and he chose to photograph this painting. Kind of fun! I'm hoping to do a show like this, I think it would be fun. Anyways, here is the image!

There is another photo in the series, check it out on his website: http://www.zacharykoski.com
